The value of DNA Testing !
It seems that Mother Nature made her own decisions. Tega and her brother Roady did a sneak breeding the Friday before she left for Canada to be bred to Tavaz. The pups are still the wonderful tempermented Vizslas that went to their new homes and continue to prove the quality of good breeding. For the most part, they are fantastic Vizslas. One is being shown competitively in Agility, one is competitive in Obedience, Agility and Rally, one is competing in Rally. The fact that the planned sire was not the sire of the litter was found ONLY because the entire litter was DNA'ed before they left for their new homes.
As a breeder who is concerned that all pups be as healthy (mentally and physically) as possible, I did all I could to check the health of Tega and Tavasz before breeding. Health testing does NOT guarantee that all puppies will be perfect specimens of health all of their life, but it is an important qualification of a concerned breeder. Tega and Tavasz/Roady had the following health tests done. For more information on the various health checks, check the Health web page
