She went to the Rainbow Bridge at 14 years of age, she is Tega's daughter from the Mission Litter, half sister to Kaboom.
Kai finished her Grand Championship and her Rally Excellent title in the same week. She loved the show ring, hates Rally, and loved Agility when it is for play (treats involved). She loved Barn Hunt, actually passed her NACSW ORT, but her vision was deteriorating (AGE) and she is not comfortable doing searches under tables, etc
Kai has a UCH in front of her name because she has a UKC Championship-with a Multiple Breed Best in Show at 16 months of age. The local training club I belong to holds UKC shows, and as I had to run the kitchen, Kai went to practice her show skills. A Junior Handler that she had never seen, showed her for me, and they had a very successful day! The competition was some very high ranking AKC Champions. We are very proud of this girl.
In 2012, Kai had the Alphabet Soup Litter. Tank has his Bronz Grand Championship, has been #1 Owner Handled Vizsla and has his first Rally Novice title and Novice Barn Hunt title. Katie as 2 points towards her championship, but, like most of the litter, is primarily a fantastic family pet.
In 2013, Kai had the Gifts of the Gods Litter. These pups are amazing! Jinks, owned by co-breeder/co-owner Pam Williams, has her Grand Championship and Junior Hunter titles. One of the pups is in training for a S&R dog with a specialty in Human Remains Detection (HRD) as well as obedience and has her (owner handled) Championship title, her CD, and her Rally Advanced title. Another girl is also being Owner Handled in the show ring with both Majors, and is also training in agility.
In 2015, Kai had a repeat breeding to Guzzle and she had the Mystery Litter . I kept Gema out of that litter. Out of that litter, one girl is doing S & R training, has her Beginner Novice title, her Rally Novice title and has her first major. A third girl is living in the world of Agility with her Open titles in Standard and Jumpers. And one of the boys, also Owner Handled, has a major and some single points. We love the homes that have our dogs and appreciate those who step out into the unknown (or known) and compete in some way with their Vizslas

Kai had her last litter in 2015. The sire was the same sire as the "Gods" litter. For a variety of reasons it was called the "Mystery Litter."
1/13-12/14
Before her 2013 "Gifts of the Gods" litter was born, Kai earned her conformation Grand Championship title with a Best of Breed over multiple excellent Breed Champions in Louisville, KY.
Kai has been running Agility in CPE and AKC. She has her lower titles in both. Agility is really not her driving goal. So, we have an open title in Barn Hunt, are working on Birch in Nose Work and she has her first two legs toward her Junior Hunter title (in one day of competing).

Pam and I have decided that Kai will be bred in the June/July time frame (her next season.) Pam has a list of pet people from her last, small, litter, so inquiries from people interested in show or competition are especially welcome. In any case, feel free to contact me and I am happy to make referrals. In the mean time we are competing in Agility, plan to get her RE title, and perhaps her GRCH title!

Kai will not be bred this season-complications with the stud, owner out of town, etc. Feel free to contact me and I am happy to make referrals. We will get back to work on Agility and get the RE title, and perhaps her GRCH title!

The sire for Kai's first breeding is Bud - CH CMF Bud Leitz . Pam and I are thrilled at the match. The breeding will occur in May (2012). Mother Nature sets the exact time. The web site will reflect updates as they occur. She is (May 8) just showing first signs of coming into season.

Kai has earned her Rally Excellent Title. We will wait a little (actually do some training) before we go into the next level. And I actually have put her in an agility class and she has actually competed in her first CPE trial. Teaching a class and train her in the class is NOT working. Kai is getting short-changed. She is a contact loving dog and is actually getting better at figuring out how to run with her agility impaired owner.

Today is a "Snow Day" and I am catching up on my web site. Kai has a UCH in front of her name because she has a UKC Championship-with a Multiple Breed Best in Show at 16 months of age. The local training club I belong to holds the UKC shows, and as I had to run the kitchen, Kai went to practice her show skills. Life has been full of walks for the dogs, and little else in the way of training. My life has been full of other issues, but the dogs are healthy. My hope is to get out in the field and do some bird work this spring (if the snow ever melts). Kai is also starting the basic training for agility. I do not rush this with my dogs, but she is mature enough and she is starting jump training.

Kai is Tega's daughter from the May 2008 (Mission) litter. She is spending the first two + weeks as a member of my household doing visiting. So far she has spent 4 nights with 3 Rhodesian Ridgebacks, is headed to stay a week with 2 grandchildren and their Vizsla and then will go spend 3 nights with a friend and her small dogs. Variety and exposure to different things is vital!
Kai is a gem (we may have to work on recalls with distractions a lot :>( ) but she went "with just me" to New York for 5 days.. This entailed 2 11 hr days in the car. I absolutely love her travel behavior. "In crate, go to sleep!" We stopped in Erie for a 30 min break with a long walk on some ball fields, and made 2 other short stops for potty breaks. She settled well at the Seminar-something hard for a 13 week old pup to do for 4 days of class as it can be very boring with little for a pup to do during part of the day. She got to be the guinea pig for some loose leash walking practice by the attendees, she played with some pups, had off-leash walks before and after the seminar began and always got to go run in the woods at lunch.
Now we are home for a month.. Swimming practice, bird work and intro to puppy agility are on the schedule. In Oct all of us are going to a cabin in PA with 3 other fiends and their dogs--- it looks like between 6 and 8 dogs will be attending... CHAOS but fun!

Life has been full, so this January update is short, but full! Kai has been in her first shows and had fun, is growing, learning, in agility classes (all aimed at a PUPPY), and is way behind in bird work-but it will come. We went to DE for our annual New Year visit with friends. Kai got LOTS of exercise with friends' dogs. Willow, the German Shepherd learned a lot from Kai, who was adept at realizing when Willow's excitement level was going too high. Kai would simply lay down and watch until Willow calmed down and the games would begin again. The Bull Terrier is Puffin, and if you look at Tega's page you will see Tega and Puffin playing when Tega was about a year of age. SO there is some special joy in seeing Kai playing with a much older Puffin, who has some health issues, even if at a much calmer level.

My Pennsylvania GREAT Adventure
This is the great Kai reporting on one of our most recent travels! Human Mom loaded up the big car with all three crates, lots of boxes and off we all went... To some place called PA. When we arrived and Mom opened the door and let us out (without leashes) we were at a cabin with ACRES and acres of places to run and hunt with our powerful noses. There were also 4 dog friends (some I had never met) to play with. The dogs are: an older golden (Shelby), a younger golden (Jester), a older lab (Teddy), and a Shepherd (Willow). It was wonderful! (yes there were 7 dogs and 4 humans in a fairly small cabin for 8 days)
... I have a new name, or is it four new names? I am either skeeter, fire-fly, hellion or bark-striper! The name barkstripper come from my talent at going into the wood piles by the wood stoves and pulling off long strips of bark to chew on, play with. I can pull of a strip all around the piece of wood- sometimes two turns around the piece! I am smart!
... One day we have the absolute joy of helping 4 humans grind over 75 lbs of venison so that it could all go home with us for dog food. We were fantastic helpers!
We have run in some wonderful fields, we have had long play times- I absolutely love leading the German shepherd on races she cannot win. Sometimes the shepherd (Willow) targets Tega-mom and makes it hard for us to play. Kaboom loves to play with Willow as well.
... Jester (the younger golden) found some wonderful smelling pumpkins to roll in-time after time after time. His human mom got so mad at him that she put him in the kennel the cabin owners had, until it was warm enough to give him a bath (it was 7 AM when he went rolling and there was frost everywhere). Kaboom found the pumpkin the first day and the bath he got convinced him it was NOT worth the pleasure.
... We are all good traveling dogs. No fights, no snarls, just eat, play and run and sleep.
