CH Kitriana's Tobasco Cat, CD, TDI
May 7, 1994 - June 1, 2005
Cat died at just over 11 years of age-the matriarch of the house and VERY proud of her position. She simply WAS.... Happy, comfortable, greying, ruling and in superb condition thanks to the long walks in a near by state park.
She died as she lived-her way with no pain, no warning, with dignity and love that kept those she loved from suffering any more than necessary. Cat was a beautiful Vizsla and earned the CH with ease, bur she did not believe in working. How she earned a CD is beyond me. I believe that I could have paid for a house betting people that they could not get her to "down" without force. I tried every kind of reward to get the "down on command" into her working vocabulary. We did therapy dog work with a hospice groups. Sitting to be admired and for strokes and petting hands fit into her job description. |
THE SPIRIT LIVES ON
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond's glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripening grain, I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circle flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. - Unknown |
