"Gema"
Gema is "Nancy" from the Mystery Litter
Gema is the pup that we all chose to stay here as the next in the line of Vizslas that share my home with me. She has brought joy and challenges to our partnership She was a wonderfully sweet, inquisitive puppy. She quickly learned that she could stay in a crate while I am in front of her, when I am gone, and for a long night's sleep.
Her first exposure to the show ring resulted in some amazing recognition, with points earned both days at 6 months and 10 and 11 days of age. She finished her Championship at 15 months of age with limited showing, 4 majors and some singles.
As the world is not just the show ring, she took agility classes, has some CPE Level 1 titles. She also her Rally Advanced, Beginner Novice titles, her Open Barn Hunt title. She thinks hunting for rat tubes is a blast. And she is equally good in the field. Her first adventure at a Junior Hunter event proved that the nose works. First two legs in one weekend. And the last two legs were equally easy to earn. Her current love is nose/scent work... She absolutely loves it. Agility is not her favorite thing.
Gema has found her grove in Scent Work. She LOVES IT! It allows her to use her phenomenal nose, and treats are dispensed at every "find!" What else could she want..
Temperament wise Gema is fantastic. I may have to eat my words, but she is the first Vizsla I left her outside a crate before 2 years of age when I was gone for hours... She sleeps in a crate, travels in a crate, and is crated during classes. And occasionally I will crate her when I am leaving the house just to remind her that crates are part of life.
